About CGST Calculator
CGST (Central Goods and Services Tax) is the component of GST collected by the Central Government of India on intra-state sales (where the buyer and seller are in the same state).
Under dual-GST architecture, whenever an intra-state transaction takes place, total GST is divided equally into two parts: CGST (goes to Central Government) and SGST (goes to State Government).
For example, on an 18% GST item sold locally within Delhi, CGST is 9% and SGST is 9%. This calculator automatically computes exact CGST values.
CGST Calculation Formula
Total GST = Base Amount × (GST Rate ÷ 100)CGST Amount = Total GST Amount ÷ 2 (i.e. 50% of Total GST)CGST is always equal to SGST for intra-state supply.
Example: CGST Calculation on ₹20,000 at 18% GST
A dealer in Bangalore sells goods to a buyer in Mysore (within Karnataka).
Total invoice is ₹23,600. The CGST portion collected for Central Government is ₹1,800.
